Cleaning up a families flooded basement is challenging. Cleaning up a flooded college activities room has many additional challenges. 

Heavy rains during a spring storm caused the community sewer system to back up into many local buildings. This wasn't a typical basement, this was the activities room for a local college dormitory! The loss of use of this space was a very unwelcome event that interrupted the lives of dozens of students. 

SERVPRO of Elgin was able to quickly assess the damage and inform the administration on the proper actions that were needed. We then were able to pack-out and dispose of all water damaged furniture, drywall and cabinets. After very thorough cleaning, disinfecting and drying of the basement, the students were able to start reusing the area again, even before the drywall was replaced.
