Homes and buildings that have either basements and/or crawl spaces are especially affected by heavy rains due to the building actually being built into the ground where the water table might not be only slightly lower than the basement floors. Where there is water, you can get mold. It may not even take having water enter the space, it might be because the walls and floors might just stay wet due to the ground water. Here you can see what appears to be a long lasting moisture issue that has created a bad mold situation. After removing the mold affected material and with thorough cleaning, this area is better than preloss condition.
